MISSION IN ACTION

At Bluegrass Families First, we put our values into action across the community. Some of our community work includes:

The Giving Tree: A closet at the Family Care Center where household and personal care items are stored to be delivered to young families in the community who need assistance in setting up new households.

Jean Sabharwal Award: Recognizes an individual or group who has demonstrated passionate advocacy for Lexington’s children and families.

Mary Emily Taylor Scholarship: Established in 2019 in memory of Mary Emily Taylor, this scholarship is awarded to parents of young children working to continue their postsecondary education.

Family Allies: A mentoring program designed to benefit families with young children in Lexington. The program is a relationship-based model that strives to foster meaningful connections between volunteers and families with young children desiring additional support and guidance.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities: Available to support mental health services and other family needs. Bluegrass Families First works with each center to identify and award recipients.
